Legacy Christian School students meet or exceed standards on standardized tests at all grade levels, and we are continually striving to be better and better. For the 2009-2010 academic year, we are focusing our attention on building our science, math, and technology programs by pursuing grant funding and investing in equipment. We were pleased to receive donated science tables to build our science lab! We hired a math teacher this year with a Masters degree in Math Education who was a certified professional engineer prior to his education career. And our students dominated the Elks essay competition earlier this year. It’s a great time to be at Legacy Christian School!

Academic excellence involves the pursuit of an ever improving learning environment assessed by a set of academic standards whereby all students can demonstrate academic growth. Effective instructional practices, student engagement, and higher order thinking, all evaluated by a set of academic standards, are the ingredients for creating and maintaining a learning environment where academic excellence can thrive. It is the motto of Legacy Christian School to “Teach On Purpose”.

Biblical worldview is the governing perspective that the omniscient God of the universe is the source of all Truth. He has revealed in the Bible everything we need to know for life and godliness. The Bible is at the core of what Legacy teaches and the basis from which all other worldviews are evaluated. It is our task to encourage students to think about their world from Christian perspective.

Christian character is the physical, psychological, and spiritual expression of the fruit of the Spirit (Gal. 5:22-26). Christian character is revealed in the attitudes and actions of students in the form of integrity, faith, obedience, humility, love, unity, forgiveness, joy, thankfulness, commitment, compassion, and contentment. Legacy Christian Schools focus on strengthening the minds of students, and encouraging the development of Christ-like characteristics in each student.
