Admissions Policy
Guidelines
Legacy Christian School is unashamedly Christian in its purpose and focus, both in curriculum and operation. While belief in Jesus Christ by either the parents or the student is not a prerequisite to attendance, non-Christians should be aware that no compromise will be made in doctrine and expectations for student behavior. Although our philosophy is evangelistic, students whose behavior does not conform to our standards will be dismissed when deemed appropriate and in the best interests of the school.
Any exception made to the admissions policies of Legacy Christian School (LCS) is applicable only to the situation in which it is made or person(s) to whom it is made and does not apply to any other situation or person(s).
Non-discrimination
LCS admits students of any race, color, national or ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs and activities generally accorded or made available at the school. It does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, or national or ethnic origin in the administration of education policies, admissions policies, scholarship programs, athletic or other school administered programs.
Legal Requirements
Age-A child must be at least 5 years old by September 30th to enter kindergarten. If the child has attended kindergarten in another state, they may enter kindergarten in Nevada regardless of age. A child must be at least 6 years old by September 30th to enter first grade.

- Student Records: LCS will request a copy of the student's records from the school they most recently attended. (These records must be sent through the mail and not hand-carried to the school).
- Health Record: A current immunization record (green card) must be obtained from the Washoe County Health Department if it is not part of the student's records.
Requirements
New Jr. High and High School students will write an essay stating their intentions about attending LCS. New and returning students will sign student contracts which include their commitment to spiritual and moral excellence.
Admission to the Junior and High School
Admissions into the Junior/High School is not automatic. In order to achieve our mission as a Christian school we must define the type of students that we are most able to assist in achieving our educational goals and who will not hinder other students from achieving these goals. Returning students will be evaluated by a teacher panel to determine their eligibility for re-admittance. A child is not considered enrolled until the following steps have been satisfactorily completed. If the application to LCS is rejected, all enrollment fees will be refunded. Once the child is accepted to LCS, no refunds will be given.
Procedures
Step I: Student/Parent Handbook
Please read in its entirety to fully understand Legacy Christian School.
Step II: Interview and Contracts
The Student Contract and Parental Cooperation Statement will be reviewed at this time. Signing these statements signifies compliance with all policies in our handbook. If at any time during the school year a student or parent consistently and intentionally disregards the items to which they have agreed, the contract/statements are considered broken and the student will be asked to withdraw from the school.
Step III: Paperwork
Submit the following items: birth certificate, health card, previous school records (directly from them to us), LCS enrollment packet, registration fee and CLEA membership dues.
